The only "shonen"-esque aspect from this manga is how the protagonist checks the progression of his overclocking by relying on his keen sense of hearing, because he's a musician.

Overclocking doesn't need to be always useful in daily tasks. It's similar that an F1 race car isn't needed in daily transportation. It basically tests your computer power, and in this topic, it's about speed and durability and how you can manage your CPU's performances.
