I also love these two other examples, one is from one of the first volumes of the manga (Shin Lupin III) and another is closer to the end.
There's something about seeing a focus on Lupin without his eye still bloody and a totally black background.
These little details.
I especially like this one where the broken glass in the background shows how frustrated and upset Lupin is.

Something I really like about Monkey Punch is how there are little to no panels without any background.
