I wasn't very familiar with Kochikame, I only knew it for the these and the crossover with Super Psychic Policeman Chojo (R.I.P). So they were certainly good impressions and that I will read more. https://t.co/nmmO5d2fYf
Although I personally find the crossover with Lupin the weakest, the Golgo 13 story maintains it's original essence and it really feels like the Kochikame characters interrupted a normal chapter, and the DB story has the great subversive humor that characterizes Toriyama.
In 2006 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the long-running gag manga by Osamu Akimoto, Shonen Jump realeased an special Volume called "Chou Kochikame", centered on multiple crossover chapters with other mangas like Golgo 13, Kinnikuman, Dragon Ball and of course, Lupin III.
If you're insterested in reading it, you can find it online as Shin Lupin III - Chapter 98: "Keeling Them Softly" (for some reason). https://t.co/UzkBgiK73O
But now let's talk about the REAL differences, starting with:
While in the anime, Starmow leaves Lupin behind with a bomb strapped to his back, in the Manga he does that, but also rips out one of Lupin's eyes with a knife. https://t.co/V668zLR1k4
—Spoiler (kinda)—
Today's recommendation is a personal favorite, I really like this scene in particular and I love when they present Lupin as someone terrifying despite looking like a stupid monkey.
Hope you all like it as much as me. https://t.co/VV4ur8DOPx
In Chapter 97 of Lupin III: “Island of Thieves (Part 2)”, Monkey Punch breaks the 4th wall by commenting on his writing and recreates the Art Style of his companions on Weekly Manga Action (August 26, 1971).
