31. Buccafe ( Buddha Cafe) - Roku Kobayashi. Slice of life about employees working in cafe run by Buddhist priests. It’s comical and also you get to learn about Buddhism in fun way. This series was on pause for while but finally restarted recently and I’m so happy 😭😭
30. Raise Wa Tanin Ga Ii (Hopefully we are strangers in next life) - Asuka Konishi. Been following her since the series was on pixiv. Story revolves around Yakuza leader and his arranged fiancé. Women power 💪Her previous book “Haru No Noroi” (Curse of Haru) is also super good ☺️
29. SNEAKY RED - Thanat. One of my favorite yaoi manga artist. Her style is somewhat nostalgic and I love her graphic taste. I also admire her other comic “Here and there and us”, “PERFECT FIT” and “A Marked Love March” 💖🏳️🌈 Her boys are just too charming !
28. Deep Sea Aquarium Magmell - Kiyomi Shigeshita. Ongoing series about a boy who is fascinated by deep sea creatures, learning about them everyday at his work place. As you can see the drawings are great and adorable, story is heartwarming and also it’s educational 🌊🐟
27. Golden Days - Shigeru Takao. About a boy who leaped time in Taisho era and met his grandpa’s best friend. ( last img is “Teru Teru x Shounen - another masterpiece / about ninja clan and their masters ) Just can’t get over how pretty she draws hair and hands ... so delicate ✨
26. A Cruel God Reigns - Moto Hagio, ( who did “Poe’s Clan” ) The story follows a sensitive boy vs his sexually abusive stepfather. Led on a path full of drugs, prostitution, blackmail, and suicide, we are guided on a journey written by one of the pioneers of the yaoi genre.
25. Liar x Liar - Renjuro Kindaichi. Been fan since “Hare+Guu”. The story revolves around two distant step-siblings who are secretly in love with each other. One day simple joke involves to biggest lie she ever lied... I just love this cute cool type brother 💖
24. Delicious in Dungeon - Ryoko Kui. Fantasy food adventures in Dungeon. I need anime of this. Her short stories series are also amazing too - she literally can draw anything. Ranges from modern slice of life, ancient Europe, old Japan, supernatural, comical to serious themes.
23. Hyakko - Haruaki Kato. Been following him since “Yuhi Romance” 2005. I just LOVE his pencil line works and his cute silly hs girls. I also love his “Abnormal Kei Girls” 👯♀️🔪🩸but sadly, but as usual, author is probably not going to complete the series. But still good tho!
22. Animal Doctor - Noriko Sasaki. It’s about humorous adventures of a Hokkaido veterinary student, his friends, and his dog, learning how to care for all kinds of animals. I just love her comical expressions. One of my life favorite comic. Her “Heaven?” ( 🇫🇷🍽) is also 👌👍👍
21. Blank Canvas - Akiko Higashimura. ( who did Jellyfish Princess - also super good !) I always recommend this one for anyone who is struggling with art. Can’t read this without 😭I also love her “Gourmet Detective”🍎🕵️♂️,“Mama wa Temparist” 👶💥and “Tokyo Tarareba Girls” 👯♀️⁉️💍.
20. Midnight Diner - Yaro Abe. You might seen the drama version on Netflix. Tbh I wasn’t fond of the drawing at first but as I read it, it grew on me and ended up loving all these heartwarming food + human drama stories. I also love his “Mimikaki” comic ( about ear cleaning )
