Less of an informative corner and more of a simple anecdote from when I was first working on Undead Unluck. Anyone who has TL'd dialogue can relate, but the more nebulous words end up being harder because there are SO many choices. Editors really help mitigate the struggle! 👍👍

When translating this week's chapter of Undead Unluck, I noticed that NYC was awfully close to Longing judging from the perspective, but this is actually the New York-New York hotel in Vegas! Either Tozuka-sensei did his research or he stayed here in the past, lol. #UndeadUnluck

Heard some people talking about whjere Fuuko pulled out her gun in the latest chapter, but if you remember in Chapter 13 where she tackled Ken, she confiscated the revolver he pointed at her and Shen. This is most likely the same gun in her pocket. #UndeadUnluck #アンデラ

The names descending have about 1~2 readable radicals (部首.) Luckily Japanese only has so many combinations of kanji for (standard) names so it was a process of elimination. For the single kanji on the right, I just used my discretion for common last names. #KaijuNo8 #怪獣8号 https://t.co/R1d9fTYhcD

So, now that it's pretty much confirmed that touching an Artifact gives you visions that makes this line Victor said back in chapter 17 make so much more sense in context. #UndeadUnluck

Kaiju No. 8 Ch 9: I spent an inordinate amount of time getting the "weight" of this scene right and it seemed to work! Accuracy, word length & flow, bubble size, are things you need to take into account for manga TL. Be conscious of your medium. #怪獣8号
