Kaiju No. 8 Ch 18 Replicating the energy of a page is important. Kafka is beside himself, vivid brush strokes rise from him like flames, steam billows from his misshapen mouth, inciting terror. So, "You've repeatedly shot these things into their bodies?" is just... too meh, lol.

原作の印象的で盛り上がる場面、ぎこちなく拙く"明らかに訳しているが次の展開が気になるから続けよう"ではなく"つ、次はどうなる!?"って気持ちを引き出すのが重要。そのため、shooting the hell out of(撃ち込みまくる/容赦なく打ち込む)のほうがもっと適切な表現という風に思っています #怪獣8号

I never really explained the way I phrased Fuuko's unluck before, but essentially I use "stroke of unluck" wherever "unluck" by itself would look awkward, since "unluck" is a rather uncommon English word. (1/3) #UndeadUnluck #アンデラ

And in places where using "unluck" twice in a row would look weird, I'm given allowance to use a synonym. The most recently example of this is Chapter 43 where Victor calls Fuuko "Unluck" and uses 不運 (unluck,) but this happens more often than you might realize. (2/3)

Fuuko's "catchphrase" is 来るよ私の不運が (it's coming, my unluck.) I essentially modify that each time to fit the dialogue better so it has a more natural rhythm. Sometimes whole lines have to be worked around to better accommodate it. (3/3)

風子の不運(アンラック)の翻訳についてだけど英語では"unluck"とは単語として珍しくあまり使われていない単語で(名詞＝bad luck形容詞＝unlucky)そのまま直訳しては不自然に感じてしまうシーンに対してstroke of bad luck(不運の出来事)から採用したstroke of unluckにすることでその違和感を和らげる

なお、不運と不運(アンラック)または不運が入っている台詞をunluckで訳したらスムーズに読めないようなシーンの場合は、それに対して別の言葉が利用できる余裕があり、何度も同じ言葉を繰り返さないためにも『不運』に関連する同義語(misfortuneなど)を使っていくということになります。

風子の台詞「来るよ(私の)不運が」英語版だと1話1話同じ訳を使用しては不自然だなぎこちないなという印象が必ず出てしまうので毎回毎回シーンの流れとかテンポ・緩急に合わせて倒置の強調をキープしたままの訳を利用する事でもっと自然に聞こえるような形で特色を表現できるかなというチョイスをします

Undead Unluck Ch 45 The Unluck Bullets are each numbered (first, second, etc) to the corresponding digit. I wanted to get across the same info in English, so I tried "first finger" "second finger" but that looked dumb. I eventually settled on the current format. #UndeadUnluck

アンデラ45話、不運弾は順番に番号が付けられてるがどうやって英語で表現するかと悩んでいるとfirst finger second finger等も考えたが何かダサいネーミングだなと。そこで、ファーストセカンド等の後にそれに対応する手の指の名前をつけたらいいんじゃないかなぁ、というご勝手な判断ですw #アンデラ
