Funny update: Come to find out this typo was caught and fixed JP side. Our manuscript said 保つことに固辞 (tamotsu ni koji/firm denial to preserving) which read wrong. After pondering, I realized it was likely the homophone 固持 (koji/adherence.) Final ver is 固執 (adherence.) https://t.co/gj3qtNNUX8

ちょっとした裏話だけど、英語版『すべそれ』2巻が発売されたので英語圏内で見れる立ち読みサンプルはドン！と尻取りスタートだけどあのアンデラの全言語死理取りより数倍優しいし日本語をローマ字に起こしてもOKって許可をもらって念の為プチ尻取り説明の脚注もつけて丸く収まりました✌️

Undead 237: Clothes wishes the two 最高の福 (the greatest of happiness) but 福 (fuku/happiness) is a homophone with 服 (fuku/clothes.) Since no such similar words exist in English, stress is placed on a clothing/stitching related term ("weave") to sound natural.

Syd Craft 5: Here Elio mistakes a lot of Syd's words, but specifically the homonyms 隙 (suki/opening/weakness) and 好き (suki/like/love.) Doesn't work in English, so I worked off of the definition of 隙: Elio comes to a skewed conclusion instead of misinterpreting similar sounds.

Undead Unluck 223: ジ ハート (jihaato/The Heart) is furigana for 心臓 (shinzou/heart.) 私のジ ハート doesn't sound right in English ("my The Heart,") so by splitting the 2nd and 3rd balloon into standalone words ("my heart, The Heart") you get a more natural fit in EN.

Syd Craft Ch 1: I almost forgot about this one. 脳内劇場 is nounai gekijou or "mental/inside of brain theater." Seemed too good not to add the "piece" as a play on "masterpiece" here.

is subtly and subliminally implied, the base quote in EN is a much more direct piece of foreshadowing (?) in this case. This might've been a case of sensei knowing the EN, using the JP TL, and leaving it to readers to realize that it's foreshadowing for the events to come.

we decided to keep the spellings as-is and use any moment later on to expand upon the meanings for the audience. ("Kingdom of Hi, the domain of fire" or something like that.) The 1st episode already packed in so much lore, this felt like the right decision.
