"...and there's also kripto elements about it..."
Me:
Here's an assortment of quips and gags from Mizuo that I liked. Sen no Rikyu is said to be the progenitor of modern day Japanese tea ceremony concepts, so him offering you a drink would make you question if it's a spot of tea or a shot of bourbon.
So yeah a line said by Andy in response to Shen about the Taipei 101 still having its gunpowder sounded funny but I translated it faithfully. At first I thought maybe Andy had his memories scrambled too, but it seems it was a mistake that'll be corrected in the tankobons lol
you know, this part 6 stuff ain't half bad now
For example, a camera is カメラ and not a 写真機(shashinki) since the latter sounds datee. With the post-war setting, it's rendered 拳闘 to reflect the times. In EN, while there other words that could be used ("pugilism" "prizefighting") I opted just for "boxing." (3/6)

1話だけ読んだが可愛すぎてもっと読んでみたい....!!
Also, Fukuzawa Yukichi is the person on the 10,000 yen note if context from the dialogue didn't make that clear. He's an entrepreneur during the Meiji era that was famous for introducing ideas of the West to Japan after the fall of the Tokugawa shogunate.
Kotaro Minami (played by Tetsuo Kurata) is Kamen Rider Black (+ Black RX.) Kyoya Nanami is from parody J-pop group, Black Biscuits with comedy partner, Amano Hiroyuki, and future Taiwanese star Vivian Hsu. Made to rival fellow parody band, Pocket Biscuits.
And as an added bonus, some pieces from my sequential art portfolio lost to the annals of time lol.
